Etsy & Rose Ultra

Do you shop on Etsy? (etsy.com)I think it’s a great way to find unique pieces from individuals that you would not normally find. It is basically a marketplace for designers and crafters to sell their products; I thought it would be a great idea to have collaborations with British designers and blog about some of the items they have for sale. So over the next few weeks I have a few collaborations and giveaways in store for you...it’s the big heads up for individual designers
I stumbled across Rose Ultra while looking for some interesting hair clips. Rose Ultra specialises in quirky hair clips/earrings and necklaces. The items I selected arrived in the post in what I call a sweetie bag with a Rose Ultra sticker (I love little touches like this)
The items arrived so quickly! I was not expecting to receive them for a good few days but it arrived the next working day! All the items were wrapped in tissue paper as well which adds another nice touch. Other clips that I have my eye on is the swallow and one of the new additions is the cute deer
The clips are so cute and I love the poodle, even Maggie & Moji were impressed (but not so impressed when I tried to clip it to Moji’s mane)

Here is a selection of items sent to me:

Im in chains

Nails – OPI Purple with a purpose
Hamsa bracelet – Dolly Bow Bow
Bag – Louis Vuitton Damier Neverful
Dress – Republic

I love a bit of unusual jewellery; I found this bracelet/ring combo (hand harness) in Topshop and had to snap it up. The bangle & rings is all one piece connected by chains and finished with a cross pendent which sits on the hand.  I was inspired to get one of these after watching the Chanel AW12 show, the models were adorned with head and hand jewellery, it was all about the accessories.

The only thing you have to be careful with when purchasing one of these is the ring sizes – it is unlikely you will find one which fits three fingers perfectly, I had intended to wear this on my three middle fingers but one was too small so I had to switch it round – which meant the chain was twisted at the bottom.

A few other ones I have spotted in the shops are:

ASOS- £8
ASOS - £8
ASOS - £8
Miss Selfridge - £10
Urban Outfitters - £14

Or if your feeling creative why not try making your own? Check out this how to video:

What do you guys think of these? has anyone purchased a hand harness yet?

Round up of the week

Yet another week has passed, they seem to be flying by and my wedding is only 6 weeks away. I think the worry is starting to kick in though, I had a dream last night of the morning of the wedding and nothing was going to plan and I ended up being 2 ½ hours late! Ooops luckily it was only a dream...
 - Planning to have a chilled one this weekend, a takeaway with take me out is on the cards me thinks! Crispy duck and pancakes om nom nom
 - You can still enter my giveaway! it is closing on Monday so make sure you enter before then
 - Its Ian’s birthday next week and I am trying to decide what to get him – he is a typical bloke being difficult to buy for, any ideas? I might get him a piece of jewellery, seeing as I am always looking out for new accessories & beauty products I came across these:

Toms - University classics - £37 (Schuh)
Michael Kors - Dylan chronograph watch (Michael Kors.com)
Beams Plus - Fair isle socks - £20 (Net-a-porter)
Personalised vintage letter tile cufflinks £25.50 (not on the highstreet.com)

Dolly Bow Bow - Hamsa Hand String Bracelet

I came across the Dolly Bow Bow blog while looking through other blogs and took a quick peek at the items for sale. I love online boutiques like this as its great for individual pieces and unusual accessories (like the peter pan collar necklace)
There were so many items I liked so I could not decide what to go for! but I opted for this Hamsa Hand string bracelet (it represents strength and supposed to ward off jealousy) which comes in other colours too.
My order took about 7 working days to arrive as the jewellery is handmade, and arrived in a paper bag with a Dolly Bow Bow sticker. The bracelet itself came in pink organza bag - I know the item you are buying is the most important but I love little touches like this and makes receiving it through the post more exciting. Would I shop there again? yes! here are some items I have my eye on:

Freya magenta stone knuckle ring - £12.00
Dolly bow necklace - £8.00
Isis pyramid earrings - £6.00
The wild things ring set - £9.00

MAC Haul

Ooops, accidentally had a mega haul at MAC on Sunday... well a girls gotta look good!  Anyway its justified because it’s my wedding makeup which I am applying myself so it’s cheaper than having an artist come and do it for me and I get to keep the products. I never actually found out how much a makeup artist was so I am just assuming....
Anyway, onto the haul. I had a consultation booked which means you are guaranteed to spend a fortune because they make you look so good that you have to have it all – fortunately my credit card got away with only half the items. So the list of items are:

Prep & Prime - Neutralize
Matchmaster Foundation - 1.5
Select Cover-Up - NW20
Lustre Drops - Pink Rebel
Powder Blush - Buff
Two Eye Shadows - Shale & Soba
Pro Colour x 2 Compact
Glaze Lipstick - Hue

I only bought the refill case because they were out of the Soba but it turns out she scanned in the other full pot of instead of the mineralise powder – so I am going to have to take it back to exchange. I also have my eye on two brushes which she used - the Duo Fibre Brush & the Shader, so I may be tempted to get those, you only get married once right!?
Really I should have booked the hour ½ session for £50 because I spent well over that on products anyway (I opted for the £25 hour) but I was in the chair for at least an hour ½ so defo got my monies worth. Highly recommend having a consultation, although when I told her I use foundation on my eyelids she was horrified and I felt a bit of a noob, oh well only way you learn I suppose
I think I am going to stretch out the fun and have MAC posts over the next few weeks of individual items unless everyone gets sick of reading about MAC (personally I wouldn’t but Let me know!)

Who would have thought I was a MAC virgin only a few months ago...MR MAC now gets a whole lot of lovin
