Saturday Shopping

I have been a naughty blogger the past week, not many posts and updates from me tut tut. This week I will get back on track :)

Even though I have been busy, I shave still had time to fit in a wee bit of shopping, (I’ve got my priorities right!)
I bought this Collection blush & highlight duo, I do not normally buy from this range, not one of my usual go to brands however the duo caught my eye. This colour duo is called strawberries and cream, first you have to apply the pinky shade and then the highlighter over the top. I generally tend to steer clear of cream blushers as most slide off my face so this should be interesting.

I popped into MAC just for a mooch and came out with a Pro Longwear LipGlass from the Office Hours collection in Persistent Peach, oooh yer :)

Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask Starter Kit

I am always drawn to clay masks, they seem to do the trick for a deep cleanse on my oily skin. Whilst stocking up on some Liz Earle goodies I picked up the Deep Cleansing Mask Starter kit which included a 75ml mask and two sponges inside a wash bag.

I like the fact that they included two sponges as one always seems to go astray so this gives me a back up!

I have to say I do not like the smell of this mask at all, I think it is the Manuka honey and I can not really smell the rose scented geranium. Nevertheless, I love the natural ingredients so I did not let that put me off giving this a try.

I have used this once a week for a few weeks now, applying it to the face and neck and leaving for 15 minutes. After that, I used a sponge to remove the mask, which was gentle yet a good exfoliator too. The texture is lighter than other clay masks I have used which I liked as the heavier masks tend to dry too hard and tighten the skin too much.

Overall I liked using this apart from the smell, the results were OK, I would say it is a mid range mask. I won’t buying this again as I only got average results, I think this would be better for normal/combination skin. If you were to buy this then I would go for the starter kit as the sponges that come with it work well with the mask.

I will however be buying the Liz Earle cleanse and polish again! And I would like to try some of the make up too, any recommendations?

Saturday Shopping - John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine

Now that I am back to brunette locks, I had to stock up on some brunette hair care products. I have always used the John Frieda Blonde range so thought I would test out the brunette version. What has drawn me to this is that it is supposed to add shine to your hair (which I think is vital for brunette hair) so I picked up the shampoo, conditioner and also the shine shock glosser.

I also need to dye my hair again as it has faded quite a bit and the blonde is starting to come through. I picked up the L’oreal Casting Crème Gloss in Chocolate truffle. Believe it or not my husband always dyes my hair for me, he trained as a hairdresser years ago, if it was left to me then the bathroom/my face would end up more brunette then my hair.

Maggie & Mojo Review Scruffychops

There’s something wrong when your dogs get more samples to try then you do and on this occasion Maggie & Mojo were sent some Scruffy Chops doggy cosmetics to try.

They were sent the Rhubarking Mad shampoo and Muddy Marvelous conditioner, both made from natural minerals.

The main to things that I look for in a doggy wash is that it doesn’t irritate the skin and also it leaves a nice smell on their fur. Both the shampoo and conditioner seemed to do this. The only down side is that the conditioner took a while to wash out

Overall they both smelt lovely for days! Which is unusual for filthy Mojo J and there was no scratching afterwards which is a good sign. I would now buy Scruffy Chops, well I have to make use of the discount voucher…

Whats in my Make-Up Bag?

Hands up if you love houndstooth print (both my arms are now in the air)
When I saw this make up bag I could not resist, it’s just the right size for a daily make up bag with too compartments, and best of all it’s a houndstooth print!

However, with it being fabric it is not exactly the best option for me, I am one of these `everything needs to be wipeable’ people as there are frequent spillages. I am sure that in the not too distant future this bag will become a black and BROWN print rather than black and white. Chuck it in the wash and it will go bobbley – nice

Ah well at least it looks nice for now J
