Hi Everyone!
I am back! where have I been? well, its been quite a busy time for me with lots of exciting things going on. The most recent of course is Christmas, which has for some reason taken a lot of my time.
Back to the blog, I have decided that a New Year calls for a new blog layout. So here it is, what do you think? OK so I need to update a few things but its a great start. I had no idea where to begin when it came to blog coding so I called for the help of Dana from Wonder Forest to help me out.
What do you think of the new layout?

Tresemme Back Comb Dust & V05 Give Me Texture Powder
I am forever on the quest for bigger hair, whether it suits me or not I long for big volume locks. I have heard good things about volume powders so I thought I would try out the VO5 Give Me Texture Powder and the Tresemme Texture Style Backcomb Dust
Both are a reasonable price at £4 for VO5 & £5.50 for Tresemme, you can get higher end versions on but I can’t see what the difference would be between a high & low end for this product
The idea is to sprinkle the powder on to the roots of dry hair before styling. It comes out as a white powder but when rubbed into the roots it turns opaque so it is not visible (don’t worry you won’t look like you have dandruff!)
Now the reason I am reviewing these together is because they both work exactly the same, I seriously could not tell the difference between the two, which is why I believe a higher end product would do the same.
So do they work? If you’re a back combing queen then I am sure you would get on well with these but for me it’s a no likey. If I wanted to go for the greasy scarecrow look then this would be right up my street, but on this occasion I will give it a miss.
The texture of my hair after application is horrible, like a squeaky/dry/claggy feeling. It does add volume but not in the neat way a mousse would so really it is down to what style you want and what hair type you have. I have fine oily hair, it is lank if it does not have volumising product in, but I still like it to look smooth. If you have long locks and you want to add more texture as well as volume then this is more suited for you. It just doesn’t work on my straight bob!
I have heard it is supposed to help with greasy roots as it absorbs the oil, I did not really find this with the powders and if anything made my hair feel dirtier.
So overall it does add volume but I do not like the texture the powders give. Have you bought any of these? How are you getting on with them?

Jingle Bell Rock
This
year however I have decided to go out and stock up on a whole new selection of
decorations! I headed down to Wilko to stock up, their selection is pretty good
and reasonable prices too.
So
you can guess what I have been doing this weekend, is your tree up yet?

MAC Glamour Daze Frost Lipstick in Innocence
It’s the time of year to get out the sparkle and red lippy for the party season. I popped down to MAC to have a quick nosey at this season’s collection expecting to see the glitter and Christmas colours. While there was a bit of glitter, I was quite surprised at the lip stick colours as they are overall quite tame (and what I mean by tame is that they are not a selection of bright reds and shimmer)
This actually makes a nice change, as I don’t always want to wear statement lipstick. Seeing as I did not have a frost lipstick in my collection, I chose the shade Innocence which is a cinnamon burnt orange lipstick with a hint of frosted gold shimmer.
The packaging is also limited edition with a glossy black finish, MAC knows how to keep me happy J
Have you tried anything from the Holiday Collection?

Laduree Macaroons
Anyone heading to Paris soon? Well if you are there is one place that you must visit – Ladurée. A Parisian tea room best known for their iconic selection of delicious macaroons. Now, I was not lucky enough to visit the tea room myself, but my hubby brought me home some macaroons after his work trip. They are literally the best I have ever tasted, even better than my wedding ones and that is saying something! What’s even better is that I was sat on my sofa eating macaroons delivered from Paris made fresh that morning, LUSH

MAC Perfectly Plush Brush Kit - Essentials
My old brush set was not one to be envied; it was a collection of odds and ends I had picked up along the way to make do. I reached a point where I had enough and MAC was the only way forward.
OK so it was not the ONLY way forward, other options like Real Techniques and Ecotools were on offer to help with my make up brush woes. However as soon as I saw the leopard print lushness of the MAC Perfectly Plush Brush Set I just could not resist.
There were three sets to choose from, the one I chose was `Essential’ which has a good variety of brushes to start a new collection. This one includes a 129 powder/blush brush, 190 foundation brush, 2 75 medium angled shading brush, 266 small angle brush & 226 small tapered blending brush.
I love the handy wipe clean pouch that the brushes come in; it’s also got another popper pocket to keep things in for when you are on the go. It will be really handy for travel as these brushes are a bit shorter than single brushes so it saves on space.
The packaging it came in was really nice too, a leopard print box and a zig zag print satin bag with a bow makes it a great prezzie idea. Any of the holiday bags and kits would make amazing presents, you can choose from eye kits, lip kits as well as the brush sets – all in leopard print!
It’s not the cheapest of kits – its £39.50, but what I have learnt is that you cannot scrape on the budget when it comes to tools you will keep for years. Cheap brushes are rubbish! Nothing worse than a hard brush or one that leaves strands of brush on your face.
High quality brushes are wise investment, do you agree?

New hair!
Fringe Alert!
I have been debating whether to have a fringe or not, it’s one of those cuts that can make or break the whole look.
It’s taken me what seems like an age to grow my hair and I was reluctant to see my hard earned length drop to the hairdresser’s floor.
However, on a whim I said to the hairdresser `just do it’ a couple of snips later and the deed was done.
Am I pleased? Yes indeedy, its looks much neater and more styled then before. My hairdresser also offers a free fringe trim, so I am able to pop in as and when I need it done.
Do you fancy a fringe but not sure whether to take the plunge? Why not try out a clip in fringe? I found the one below from ASOS!

Balenciaga Florabotanica
I have tried a Balenciaga perfume before, I love the signature musky scent. However this new edition has floral notes too which adds a touch of femininity and freshness.
Being a sucker for packaging this bottle did not disappoint, the black and white tube down the middle of the bottle is so different it makes the perfume even more appealing. The coloured glass on the bottom and sides of the bottle adds to the design and makes a great dressing table piece. Even the box has an amazing print on it! So this ticks all the boxes for a perfect present.
