July Empties

Check me out being bang on time for July empties! I think my newly acquired organising skills are paying off! so what do we have this month then.....
Freederm facial wash
I bought this while going through a bad skin phase, I generally have oily skin & large pores but at the time I was getting pimples too. I am always a bit nervous of using `spot fighting’ washes as they tend to strip far too much oil and then you have spotty and dry skin at the same time which is a nightmare! However this one is for sensitive skin so it does not dry it out like others and it did reduce the pimples & oiliness.  It leaves the skin really clean and ready for moisturising – I would recommend and would by again.

The POREfessional - Benefit balm
Freebie from Glamour magazine –  I used it under my foundation on my nose where I have large pores. I did use it all over my face one day but I did not see any benefits to doing that. It has a slightly oily feel to it as you apply but it turns soft and powdery and makes a good base for foundation as it does reduce the size of pores. I still had the mid day shine and pores start to show a little but this is generally quite good – I would buy the full size but I am not going to, I think I will try a few others first.

17 Miracle Matte Foundation
This is a great foundation for oily skin and I think a good colour match for me too (I chose fair)I still got the mid day shine but yet to find a foundation that does not do this. I have never tried a 17 foundation before and I was pleasantly surprised – however  it tends to dry a little in the pump so every morning a solid lump would come out and also it is hard to use all the foundation and empty the tube. Apart from that I would recommend and I would buy again.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Conditioning Treatment
I bought this sachet to try out as I already use the shampoo and normal conditioner and thought I would add this to see what it is like. The consistency is a little thicker than the normal conditioner but overall had the same kind of conditioning effect.

It did however make my hair a bit lighter with a nice blonde shine so it does work as a highlight `activator’  - I would buy again

Mitchum Advanced Control 4 Hour Protection Deodorant
The best deodorant – EVER. It is supposed to last 48 hours and probably does but I have never tested it (I wash everyday darling) it does leave white marks so just be careful putting your top on. This would also be great for festivals and partying because of its staying power. No sweaty pits here –I would recommend and will buy again

Diorshow 360 Mascara

My Husband surprised me with this as a treat when he came back from a business trip; of course he went for the `gadget’ option with this rotating brush. It can seem a little gimmicky but I really like it as it does give a nice shape to the lashes and really opens up the eye which does stay put with this mascara. Now that it is empty I am not sure what to do with it as it is still working, it seems like a bit of a waste. I would try this again but I would not buy it for myself as I think it is a bit expensive.

Lush bubble bar sliceNot a good one if you are on a diet – you literally want to drink the bath water! I went for the pink creamy candy one and it was truly LUSH. It is on the oily side and heavily perfumed so I would avoid if you have sensitive skin. I would buy again but would try another first.

Bodyshop Coconut Body Butter
This body butter smells so good! And because it has coconut in it, it has that holiday vibe too. If you are sat inside on a miserable rainy day and get a waft of this it will put a smile on your face. However, this is too heavy for my skin and did not absorb very well, really a cream is better suited for me. This would be great for dry skin types though, but for me it’s not a re-buy item

  1. I really love all Bodyshop butters, but I do have quite dry skin so they usually all work good for me!

The 17 foundation sounds really interesting, I might give this a go when my current bottle is finished!

  2. I love reading empties posts! I'm going to try and hoard bottles for the end of August! Fan of the Mitchum deodorant too.

If you are looking for a foundation to stay matte ALL day I really recommend Clinique's stay matte which I reviewed on my blog here, http://squaremarshmallow.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/clinique-stay-matte-foundation-review.html

  9. Thank you for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbour were preparing to do a little analysis about that. We bought a very good e-book Neuroplex Pro on that matter from our local library and most books the place not as influensive as your information. I am very glad to see such information which I was searching for a long time. This made very glad! Anyway, in my language, there usually are not a lot good supply like this.http://www.healthsupreviews.com/neuroplex-pro/
